Yummy Eats 2014, Food Fair Like No Other

2014 marks the fourth year of Yummy Eats, Yummy magazine's annual food fair.  Last July 12, 75 concessionaires offered mouth-watering mains, sweet treats and refreshing beverages all from eye-catching booths.  During the exciting games ad engaging activities, the participants had the opportunity to win special prizes.  From cooking demos, foodies got to learn quick and easy recipes and practical cooking tips.

Every year,  Yummy magazine gather food concessionaires to join the fair and it grows bigger and yummier! This year's Yummy Eats is bigger than ever! From salty to sweet, savory to spicy, all things that you crave for was served.

This was a classic scenario of Man vs FOOD.  It's 70 food stalls (75 stalls - 5 (non-edible but food related items) vs 1 tummy.  Who will win that day?

From cupcakes to macarons, paella to pesto, coffee to chocolates, cakes to bread creations, dips to sauces, organic products to known processed pack goods, you name it and it was there at the Metro Walk Tent last July 12, 2014.

Out of 75 participating concessionaires, I was able to visit and take samples from 22 stalls.  Not bad for a 2 hours food adventure, right?  I get to see fellow bloggers, a former workmate and people who simply love food.  Trust me when I say it was not an easy feat to go around the place when it was packed with people all set to enjoy what was offered.

Upon entering the venue area, you get to enjoy two photo walls before and after registering at the main lobby.  Once inside the main activity area, you are greeted by the booth of Hunts and the main booth of C2.  Hunts has their own photo booth that you can enjoy, food treats and some of their food items that you can buy and enjoy at your free time or at home with your love ones.  From there, be ready to explore for it was food heaven in all directions!

Let me give you my favorites that day.

1st stop, Rosemarie's Artisan Macaroons.

Its perfectly created macaroons!  Rightly baked  and the flavors real.  Their salted caramel creation is one creation whose main flavors agreed to work together and not against one another.  You can reach them at (02)782 6172, email address is rosemaries.phl@gmail.com.

Bhest Lasagna offers good beef and chicken lasagna.  Its not dry, its cheesy and the seasoning just right for the Filipino taste.  I won't say it is the best in the market when compared to its Italian counterpart but it is delicious to say the less.

Tipsy Beans located in Mandaluyong and Makati City respetively, offers good coffee based drinks.  May it be with liquor or simply your normal coffee blend, it is one refreshing treat.  Their Irish blend is good.  No strong liquor effect but simply smooth and warm sensation left for you to enjoy.  And this is no hot drink.  It is one cold creation coming from Tipsy Beans.

Gourmet Keso offers good kesong puti and delicious carabao milk.  They have your regular kesong puti and a herb version of it.  Gourmet Keso is a dairy social enterprise partnering with Gawad Kalinga to be part of the Nation Building by employing people from the GK communities, partnering with dairy farmers around the country and building a strong local dairy brand.  Looking for a dairy supplier?  You can reach them thru their email address (falconaddison@gmail.com) or their mobile 09153461008/09998893960.

Not a peanut spread lover, well First Harvest will definitely change your mind about your stand about peanuts.  When I talk about peanut spread, I am talking of peanuts 100% and not 80% peanuts and 20% oil.  This is pure peanut heaven!  Its thick and smooth!  No preservatives added.  Simply what nature has given in a more spreadable texture.  Try it!

Looking for good and affordable cream cheese?  Look no further for American Heritage is already in the market.  Its affordable cream cheese that you can use in your meal or as a spread.  It may not be the top of the line when you ask certified chefs but it sure is something that you can be proud to use and serve to friends and guest a like.  I know for I use this on some of my food creations.

My top 3 stalls that day were Sweet Ideas, Lotus Pod and Choclery.  Here is why.

Sweet Ideas offers your regular cakes and more.  They offer one cake creation that is not of the standard flavor, Caviar Cakes!  Its cheesecake with two types of caviar toppings!  Its different indeed but still tasty! You can order for this unusually good creation thru 0927 9359494.

Lotus Pod is one group that supports organic produce 100%!  They are one organic store that offers not only organic goods but also promotes organic breeding.  Let us face it, nothing beats produce that is chemical free and definitely healthy!

For a non-chocolate fan, Choclery sure did change my mind about chocolates.  They have flavors that are well thought of and not simply created because it sounds nice.  Like what I said, I am not a chocolate fan but their Manchego with dark chocolate and Blue Cheese in milk chocolate is a winner for me!  That balance of cheese and chocolate = Perfection!  You can choose from their different offerings and have a customized box that would simply spell who you are and definitely put a spell on you.  Drop them a call thru their mobile number of 0917 536 6024 or email them at choclery@gmail.com. You won't be disappointed.  They were able to win my vote that day.

The whole experience was indeed a delight!  They have won versus my tummy but my tummy was happy that makes it a winner too!   Its Yummy Eats 4th year and it was a blast! I am looking forward to the years  to come and the different treats to enjoy.
