PR: Discover delicious brews and the art of coffee-making at Eastwood’s Coffee Con

This July, mallgoers can discover delicious brews from all over the world and join a series of exciting and informative coffee workshops at Eastwood’s Coffee Con, to be held from July 14 – 20 at the Eastwood Mall Atrium.

Visitors can start by discovering the delicious coffee made right at their doorstep here in the Philippines through 18 Days Coffee and the Philippine Coffee Alliance, the first and largest network of smallholder coffee farmers and value chain players in the Philippine coffee industry. Mallgoers can get a taste of coffees from all over the country, plus the chance to purchase the coveted Café Alamid, a Philippine civet coffee made from a blend of the Philippine’s finest Arabica, Liberica and Exelsa beans.


They can also get more Philippine coffee from Kickstart Coffee, who is offering a variety of blends like their Philippine Barako Coffee, Brewed Awakening, which is made from 100% Premium Arabica, and Your Daily Lift.

Guests also have the chance to purchase limited edition Coffee Con 2014 Coffee Blends, sold exclusively at the Kickstart Coffee Booth. The Eastwood Blend is a blend of Arabica and Robusta that is both mellow and stimulating, the Mckinley Hill Blend, created in the Italian tradition has a strong and complex taste while the Newport blend has a striking combination of Arabica and Robusta beans for a bold taste.


Going around Southeast Asia, guests can try Hello5 Vietnamese coffee from Bennett and Palmer, with blends developed to suit one’s Wu Xing sign or element. Hello5 flavors come in Original, Regular, Mondo, Organic, and Deluxe based on the varying blends of Arabica, Robusta, and Culi beans, suited for Metal, Fire, Wood, Water and Earth sign drinkers.

Guests can also enjoy their coffee with Bennett & Palmer’s Marou single-origin artisanal dark chocolate flavors, a Michelin-star chef endorsed line of dark chocolate.


At Craft Coffee Revolution and Coffee Empire, visitors can take a trip around the world in a cup of coffee with their vast selection of coffee beans. Between these two leaders of the Third Wave coffee revolution, guests can enjoy coffee from Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Guatemala, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Tanzania, Nicaragua and Benguet, Philippines.

For those who love pastries with their coffee, they can visit the booth of Marks & Spencer or The Coffee Beanery. For other sweet treats, guests can also visit the booth of Risa Chocolates, who will be selling coffee-flavored chocolates or Cravings, who will be selling their delectable cakes. Donut lovers can also enjoy their J.Co donut with their best-selling Cafe Avocado Frappe, Cappuccino Frappe, Cappuccino Caramello, a toasty caramel-coffee blend or an Oreo Frappe.


Milk tea fans will also get to enjoy their favorite drink with coffee as Tokyo Bubble tea offers their Coffee Milk Tea and JCC Iced Coffee, which is topped with rich Japanese cheese cake cream.

For guests who want great coffee at the comfort of their home, they can check out the coffee machines from Delonghi, who is offering Fully Automatic Espresso machines known for top Italian quality and ground-breaking design, and San Remo with their professional Espresso Machines.

Guests can also learn more about coffee through a series of free talks and workshops from the Philippine Barista and Coffee Academy (PBCA), the only coffee school in the country affiliated with an international coffee business school, The American Barista & Coffee School, CCA, Cravings, The Coffee Academy and The Coffee Beanery.


On July 17, guests can enjoy Latte Art Workshop from the PBCA at 2PM. On July 18, they can learn more about the different ways to brew coffee through the Brewing Methods Appreciation Talk from the PBCA at 2PM and discover how to mix coffee with their dessert through the Baking with Coffee Demonstration by Chef Tin Paredes of Cravings at 7PM. They can also enjoy a Latte Art Workshop by the Coffee Beanery Team at 8PM and a talk on Pastries and Coffee Pairings from The Coffee Academy at 9PM.

On July 19, guests can attend the Coffee Brewing 101 and Coffee Chocolate Pairings Talk from Bennett and Palmer at 3PM and a Coffee Appreciation Talk from Chef Tim Abejuela and Chef Trish Ocampo by The Coffee Academy at 4PM.

Then on July 20, mallgoers can more about how to incorporate coffee in their dishes through the Cooking with Coffee Demonstration by Chef Jonathan Bautista at 2PM and enjoy a talk on Various Brewing Methods by the Coffee Beanery team.

Art and coffee also comes together through Vincent Navarro’s art made from coffee grounds. Guests can check out his work at the Coffee Con and participate in Coffee Art workshops at 6PM on July 17 and 18.
