It’s the most wonderful time of the year and what better way
to spend it but by cooking for your love ones.
You need not slave the whole day in the kitchen to prepare meals. With the right equipment, cooking is such a
breeze and truly hassle-free that you will have time with your love ones.
Such was the thrust of Samsung Digital Appliance when they
partnered with Gala Star Culinary School and started this year’s Samsung-Gala
Cooking and Baking Session. Featuring
the Samsung Smart Oven which helps you cook things fast (imagine baking
cupcakes for only 3-4mins instead of 25-30mins) and the recipes that Chef
Ernest Gala has come up for this session, cooking is truly a breeze!
After a quick demonstration by Chef Ernest, we the
participants are on the go to try out the given recipe(ies) that day and see
how we all fare in the kitchen. Just a
word of caution to all who has kitchen/baking experience – his technique
“breaks tradition”. Just go with the
flow to achieve the intended results and they are good results, trust me.

*before adding the flour, make sure that you get to add the
water and cream first.
*if you are mixing things manually, add the flour gradually
to make sure that there won’t be flour lumps.
If you are using a mixer, simply follow the instructions (slow speed
first then increase after a few rounds)
Chicken Mac Casserole

The results:
I may not be that happy with my cupcakes (I forgot to tap each cup to make sure that
air is out), but I am still pleased as to how they turned out – flavor
wise. The Chicken Mac Casserole was
good. I can’t wait to try out variations on this recipe.
Try out the recipies given, you may have to adjust the time
if you are using a regular microwave and oven, and weave your own kitchen
wonder this holiday season. If you can
wish for a Samsung Smart Oven, from the Samsung Digital Appliance line, then
ask Santa . . . you never know.
