December is known to be a month of celebration and food
bounty, with Christmas and New Year celebration which shows off the food
elegance each family and country has. It
was no big surprise that the Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement decided to
stage this momentous event at the National Museum entitled: Philippine
Food Festival – Ang Sarap!
With various respectable and credible food establishments
and known food critics and dish creators joining the said event, “The
Philippine Food Festival – Ang Sarap!” was a success! Thanks also goes to The Big Difference Communication, from my end, for extending out an invite and assisting some of the participants who joined the said event.
Showing off what they have and what Filipino food is all
about that night were: Via Mare, Karen’s
Kitchen, Commune, Tinapayan Festival, Apag Marangle, Aristocrat Restaurant,
Nana Meng Tsokolate, Big Ben’s Kitchen – Home of D’Famous Imus Longganisa,
Cerchio/Romulo CafĂ©, Patricio’s Cevicheria, Deep Dips, Wooden Spoon by Chef
Daza, Bahalina, General’s Lechon, Pepita’s Kitchen, Clara Ole, Asiong’s of
Cavite, Mama Sita (Kusina ni Mama Sita), and Manong’s Gallery Street Ice Cream,
to name a few.
It was a night of recognition – those who contributed to the
preservation of the Filipino food heritage and those who showcased their goods,
fashion, fun, camaraderie and good Filipino food. Strangers get to talk to fellow strangers all
because of food. Friends get to have
laughter's in-between taste of the available ice cream. Smiles were all around that night as people
goes around interacting with one another and seeing what is offered on the
other side of the hall.
Everybody went home with a smile on their faces and a happy
stomach.Photos:
