FEU's PCC Presents A Toast To Broadway by the FEU Bamboo Band - A National Heritage Month Celebration

Think of Me . . .Memory . . .Sun and Moon . . .Stars . . .just some of theater songs that has became a classic and is known and sung by theater and music lover worldwide.  Such are samples of songs that one is set to hear played on instruments uncommonly seen and heard on stage. Capping an intellectual and artistic day on May 4, 2019 is a concert prepared by the Far Eastern University President’s Committee on Culture presenting the musical talent of the people behind the energetic FEU Bamboo Band“A Toast To Broadway”.

In line with the  celebration of the National Heritage Month in May, it is also a double celebration of sorts for the said university.  First, 2019 is the 70th Anniversary of the previously known as cultural center of the Philippines in the 50’s – the FEU Auditorium.  Designed by National Artist for Architecture, Pablo Antonio, this auditorium was the best at that period in Philippine cultural history for its art deco and its features. The 2nd celebration is more on a personal nature as FEU Bamboo Band Artistic Director Norberto Cads is celebrating his 10th year with the said institution.  With his extensive knowledge on bamboo instruments and experience in numerous international expositions and festivals, he trains his members in various genres of music.

Joining them in this night of musical magic are the voices of Mr. Raymond Gorospe and Ms. Banaue Miclat-Janssen; both quite recognized and respected in the theater and music industry.  He is a multi-medallist in the WCOPA (World Championships of Performing Arts), while she is a 3-time ALIW Award recipient and is the present Artistic Director of Dulaang U.P. (DUP) and the UP Playwrights Theatre (UPPT).

“A Toast To Broadway” is a free concert that celebrates the 91st year of the Far Eastern University.  Tickets may be downloaded from www.Ticket2Me.net, a ticketing app available in the App Store for iOS or Google Play for Android devices.  You may also call the PCC (President’s  Committee on Culture) Center from 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday at (632)8494145.
