Dome Has Added New Food Entries This March!

Starting this month, Dome Café Philippines has added in new entries into their menu.  Eight (8) new entries for you to choose and enjoy and they are all available now this March at Dome Café located at the ground floor of the Shangri-la Mall in EDSA.

Known for their good coffee, Dome has come a long way from where it was then.  This franchise business that started in Perth, Australia originally settled its roots in Makati.  From two locations in Makati, they now have settled on the crossroads of two busy cities namely Mandaluyong and Pasig; and have steadily rebuilt its followers in their new home while maintaining the ambiance that they are known for.

Four (4) new sandwiches, a new pasta dish, a new salad to enjoy, a new rice meal to indulge at, a sausage plate to share with friends and a new brew to enjoy and love, all made out of love for good comfort food.  A new set of chillers was also launched to beat the summer heat; 5 new non-alcoholic drinks for you and your kids to enjoy.  All this you can enjoy at the seat of your choice in Dome.

Garden Salad

Their Garden Salad has an interesting play of balsamic vinaigrette to its components.  What was meant to be light became a dish with an attitude.  That play of balsamic made the components of this dish not only sing its normal notes but also do a medley in the process.  The Mixed Grilled Sausages comes with, technically speaking, 5 dips to choose from.  On your plate, you have their classic breakfast sausage, grilled Italian sausage, Hungarian cheese sausage and Nuemberger sausage, pair it off with their tartar sauce, garlic mayo, barbecue sauce, dill sauce and of course the classic catsup and mayo. Four (4) types of sausages, 5 types of dips that you could pair it with; what more can you ask for?
Mix Grilled Sausages
Sweet & Spicy Grilled Salmon
A perfect time it was to launch their new rice meal dish – the Sweet & Spicy Grilled Salmon, since Lent is here and fishes takes center stage in the dining hall.  Resting on some asparagus, this is one dish that you may like to try-out in your visit to the café.  The salmon has nice grill marks that are covered with a golden-like glaze that is their sweet and spicy mayo.  The fish is flaky and you can remove the skin easily should you wish so.  Their take on the Classic Primavera Pasta is a winner!  This is good as a vegetarian pasta for what you have here are broccoli, zucchini, asparagus and cherry tomato instead of the usual meat stuff.  The sauce is creamy that really goes well with the aforementioned components and does not overpower it.  May not become your favorite but you will surely enjoy it; I sure did.
Classic Primavera Pasta

Classic Burger

The Classic Burger is truly how a burger should be.  Perfectly seasoned, rightly thick burger patty with the right amount of tomatoes, onions, greens, bacon and of course, cheese.  This thick sandwich is a sure winner for those who are looking for a no-frill sandwich or in this case burger.  Their Hungarian Sausage Sandwich is one light sandwich, to think that we are talking here of a well seasoned Hungarian sausage.  Its slices of Hungarian sausage spread accordingly on ciabatta bread with a gruyere cheese and tomato salsa spread.  The cheese is melted to the right consistency that you will have a taste of it in every bite that you take.
Hungarian Sausage Sandwich

Vegetarian Sandwich

Next on the new entry is their Vegetarian Sandwich.  This is an open faced sandwich wherein they made use of pizza bread.  Roasted to perfection is an array of vegetables that is drizzled with basil pesto and topped with feta cheese.  This sandwich is light but filling at the same time.  The Salmon & Egg Mayo Sandwich tops the list of all the new entries for me!  Its slices of thin salmon on ciabatta bread with a good layer underneath of a no frill egg spread.  It may not sound much but when you get a bite into it then you will understand why it tops the list.  Salmon is a very strong fish that needs a major treatment to keep that fishy power at bay.  That egg mayo gave that solution.  You still taste the salmon but the fishy taste is lessened to a degree that it is not overpowering the whole dish.  It is one deliciously filling sandwich that I have ever tasted!
Salmon & Egg Mayo Sandwich

Cappuccino & New York Cheesecake

Their brew of Cappuccino is perfect for their cakes!  To add taste and flair to this classic is a good dusting of chocolate powder on top of the froth cap when served.  For me, the best cake to pair with this classic is their New York Cheese Cake.  That light creamy cheesecake has the right sweetness level that is truly complimented when you take a sip of that right coffee mixture.  This is the perfect companion as to will the afternoon away or as you watch busy people go about their day.  Try this pairing and it is me-time in session.

Coolers by Sergui Pelayo for DomeCafe PH
(from far most to front: Blue Sky, Jamaica, Everest Cocktail
Summer Delight and Fresh Lemonade with Mint)

To help will the afternoon and heat away, Dome Café has launched also a new line of chillers/coolers that are not only visually refreshing but also in taste and flavors.  Created by one of the managers, Sergui Pelayo’s inspiration for all the drinks came far and wide.  From his experience as part of the food industry in the Middle East, to his dream places, to his family, Pelayo’s flair truly showed in this line of coolers that he created for the café.  You have to try and know the story of all the drinks before choosing a favorite but a must try is the Jamaica Cooler.  You have to hear from Mr. Pelayo himself the story behind this drink to understand where that smooth flavors are coming from.  Launched coolers are Jamaica, Summer Delight, Everest Cocktail, Blue Sky and Fresh Lemonade with Mint.

As a whole, the new entries of Dome Café Philippines are but reflections of who they truly are in the food industry.  They give comfort to the people through what they offer and gives off a relax atmosphere.  The food is rich in flavor and so are the drinks they now serve.  Try a moment in Dome and that moment may become a permanent fixture in your life.  That is the magic of Dome Café here in the Philippines.

CYMA: Celebration By Launching A New and Exciting Menu this 2016

When given an assignment to write about a restaurant, the only thing to do is pray to hell and high heaven that you get to do it right!  Such was my concern when I was tasked to cover the new menu launched of a restaurant that has been in the business for a decade already and has brought in the concept of Greek food into the dining minds, hearts and stomachs of the Filipinos.

Cyma Greek Taverna remains a favorite among food enthusiasts and diners who are looking for that unique gastronomic adventure.  Chef Robby Goco, owner of Cyma, has brought in that authentic Greek flavor and profile to the ever demanding but yet conservative Filipino taste, a decade ago.  Right now, Cyma has come a long way from the time that their dishes where nearly drowned in olive oil to a more bold, richer Greek flavors yet maintaining traditions in terms of food preparations.

From mezedes (starters) to mains to dessert, the new menu is truly interesting in terms of flavor and texture dimension.  One of the added features in the new menu is in line with the service or preparation of the food.  Some of the dishes can now be served solo, share or for family options while the Kreatika is for 2, 4 or 8.  You can also ask for some adjustments in terms of ingredient removal if you happen to have an adverse reaction to it.  This is customization but still maintaining its Greek flavors.

Let us start off with their mezedes or starters.

Krii Vegetarian Sampler Mezedes is composed of roasted peppers, watermelon and feta, olives and feta, roasted beets on top of a skordalia bedding and dolmadakia.  This is an interesting plate because of its components, flavors and texture.  Interesting in terms of components because they made use of watermelon not as a fruit but treated it like a vegetable.  It is a refreshing component for it helps clean your palate for the other flavors in the plate.  The roasted beet with skordalia is something that I like because of the skordalia.  The beet gets to absorb the creaminess of the skordalia making it palate delightful!  The dolmadakia is one component that you have to try.  It is rice wrapped in grape leaves resting on a bed of tzatziki- Greek yogurt, cucumber, dill and garlic.  That texture play among its components will make your eyes pop!  When you get to squeeze the lemon slice provided, not only do you have a texture play in your mouth but also a flavor play also!

Dakos is something that we are all familiar with in terms of visuals.  This is crusty bread with feta, chopped tomato, capers, oregano, olive and EVOO of course.  It is like one of your common appetizers visually speaking but don’t let this full you!  I don’t know how but the sourness that I expect from all those tomatoes is not there.  The tomatoes were sweet!  That light saltiness from the capers and feta, that light oregano bite and that strong flavor from the topped olive totally danced well with that sweet chopped tomato and crusty bread.  Had the topped olive been pitted, it would have been perfect.

One thing that they are proud off to say in Cyma is that they make their own pita.  You can order a pita starter with any of the classic dips that they have or have it in a sampler style where you can either have 3 or all dips served.  Dips made available are the following:  classic tzatziki, pine nut melitzanosalata (roasted eggplant, pine nuts and feta), htipiti (creamed feta and roasted spicy peppers), taramosalata (Greek caviar, lemon, dill, cucumber and EVOO) and Kalamata hummus (chickpeas, Kalamata olives tapenade and EVOO).  Which do I like the most?  ALL OF THEM!

The Mezedes Tis Oras is a seafood starter sampler!  It has baby scallops, calamari, octopus, shrimps and clams in garlic-herbed EVOO, lemon and oregano.  Unfortunately I wasn’t able to try all the components due to adverse reaction to shelled sea creature but I was able to try and feel the texture and flavor of the other components of this dish.  The octopus and calamari were cooked to the right degree and heat.  It was still soft and has that smoky flavor to it.  Like what I said I have something with shelled sea creature but I just have to try that scallops to see if it was treated right . . . and it was!

If you are a cheese lover then you will truly and absolutely enjoy this next dish, the Saganaki with Figs.  This is best eaten while hot and I mean literally hot for when served, you will have a small flame show at your table as the fig sauce is thrown on top of the dish.  Enjoy the heated cheese goodness as you take a slice and see how that fig sauce is an integral component of this dish.  This is one flavorful dish best shared with friends.  I am a cheese lover but take my advice of sharing this dish for you need room in your tummy for the rest that they have to offer.

Two new salads were introduced that day and I will not be surprised if it becomes a crowd favorite someday.  Why do I say that?  Because both salads has its own identity that it is bound to capture a certain foodie follower and even more.  If you are looking for a refreshing salad with an attitude, then I will recommend the Watercress Salad.  It has sweet pears in it that gives it that refreshing touch but at the same time that punch of flavor coming from the bleu cheese.  The romaine, watercress and walnut give it a beautiful texture play that you would find a small gig happening in your mouth.

The Fried Calamari and Black Rice Salad is something that is not your average salad because of the rice component, but beyond that it is truly a salad. The texture play in this dish is simply amazing!  There is crunch from the walnuts, then that smooth bite feel from the calamari, then the play of the rice and the tomoatoes . . . it is simply amazing!  The flavor is simply indescribable!  You get that small sweetness from the sultanas and then that tartness from the red onion pomegranate dressing and then another source of sweetness that is like everywhere in the dish.  It is not a cloying type of sweetness but simply something that will tickle your taste buds every now and then, keeping it dynamic as you go about with the texture gig that this dish is giving your mouth.  I have to ask the source of that sweetness and Chef Robby was gracious enough to show me the answer.  What it is?  Visit the place to know what it is.

For their mains, they happen to have 4 new offerings and a definite classic in the list.  They are Roasted Alaskan King Crab Legs, Whole Saranggani Sea Bass, Lamb Yiouvetsi, Kreatika and the classic dish Moussaka.

Again don’t ask me about the crabs because they happen to fall into the category of crustaceans but I did ask my fellow attendees and they said it was good and cooked right.  Guess I have to take their word for it.

To eat the sea bass, I would suggest the following steps:
1.       Butterfly first the fish (they will serve it to you whole).
2.       Squeeze half the juice of the grilled lemon into the meat and the leftover juice around the plate.  The grilled lemon will give off a lot of juice and that caramelized sugar (inherent to nearly all fruits) adds flavor.
3.       You can remove the central bone of bass to totally enjoy the meal.

Please note that the sea bass that you are about to dine is something that is captured in the waters of your beloved country – the Philippines.

Lamb as a protein source is excellent if handled properly.  Like its cousin the goat, there is a proper way of prepping lamb meat so that you get to enjoy it to the fullest and Chef Robby Goco’s team certainly knows how to do it right.  Lamb Yiouvetsi is something similar to the Spanish paella in terms of appearances but definitely plays on a different flavor note.  The way they treated the meat gave it a texture similar to properly cooked ox tongue for it has that same smooth feel for me.  The meat fibers are totally made tender that getting the bones out is not a chore.  The noodle rice was flavored and cooked right that it is soft yet has firmness (not mushy).  This is best shared between two only.  More than two and you will just taste it. Alone, that is near to be tagged as mega-hungry.

Kreatika is their meat platter.  It has nearly everything (beef, pork, lamb) in it with a reasonable serving of shrimps making it surf.  Served with their homemade pita, some dips, and parleys salad, prepare to dine away with this platter that is definitely good for sharing.

If the Italian has their famous lasagna, the Greeks have something that can match that dish cooking style and components wise – the Moussaka.  Layered seasoned beef and pork with eggplants and covered with a Greek béchamel sauce then baked.  When served, you might think it is nothing but when you sink your spoon into it and scoop out a good portion there you see the layers and when you popped it into your mouth you will have that rich sauce flavor going through the meat and eggplant.  This is a Greek classic!  One of the must try dishes now offered.

Ekmek
For desserts, two new offerings are made present – the Ekmek and the Olive Oil Cake.  Two totally different desserts but both perfect dinner ending.  The Ekmek is quite cool and refreshing; a good palate cleanser.  That pastry and whipped cream along with the shredded phylo make it light and the chopped pistachio gave it texture contrast.  The Olive Oil Cake is slightly dense (normal for cakes without any eggs), but that salt granules on top gave the proper contrast to the cake and fruit sweets that goes with it.  One is light while the other is slightly filling, both perfect to end a dining experience.

Olive Oil Cake

With this new menu, Chef Robby and his team aims to show the Filipino dining crowd that Cyma Greek Taverna has grown, listened well and is still here to deliver more OPA moment to your dining moment.

Op-A!

MEGAWATT, All Charged Up to Deliver Food Goodness.

Located along N. Domingo St in Quezon City is a food place partnered with a car wash; not the same owners but they share a passion of giving quality service.  Welcome to MEGAWATT, a Tex-Mex themed food place with a special twist inside and out!

Owned and managed by the same partnership that has given you Red Baron, Megawatt is a place of its own despite the similar car wash + food area combination you see with the Red Baron.  It is the only place (as far as I know) in the metro that uses solar panels to give light to the restaurant (1st twist)! The general design of the place has an industrial feel which is echoed out to the outfits of the people working here.  The cups, plates and utensils used are all recyclable that they are eco-friendly, so to speak.  Capable of seating up to 25 customers, give and take, the place may be small but it is quite enjoyable to look at especially the collectibles on display that are being sold too (2nd twist).  One of the walls of the place is a huge display case that shows collectible and wearable items.  From action figurines to hero’s shirt, from shoes, watches and key chains, it is a delight to kids and kids at heart.

The food is a wonder also!  From burritos to pizza to chicken and burgers, they have something for everyone, young and old alike.  They have colas, beers, bottled juices and flavored teas but a must try when you visit the place is their homebrewed Blackcurrant Iced Tea.  It has that delightful blackcurrant flavor and the right sweetness level.  It is refreshing!  Priced at Php 88.00, and you have a tall glass to go with whatever you are having.  Next to this, and this is for the morning people and caffeine lovers, is their coffee drip.  It is actually 1st wave type of beans but what is beautiful with this cup is the flavor that you get as you get to finish your cup.  They offer brown sugar to go with your coffee, which I think is best to all types of dripped coffee for brown sugar gives you that right sweetness without covering the flavor of the coffee.  As you go down the cup, you get to have initially that coffee flavor then slowly a slight chocolate taste comes in as you finish it.  The brown sugar simply helps push the aroma, nothing more, keeping good coffee flavor.

The 3rd and not so final twist is with the food.

Earlier, I mentioned that it is Tex-Mex inspired but they went more than that.  The food that we have tried that day has some Asian flavors that somehow went well with the Tex-Mex food and that is due to the spices used on certain offerings.

The Chicks and Chips is something that you can order for 3 or 6, Php 268 and 499 respectively.  The chips are cooked right, not soggy, and the chicken has the appearance of something your grandmother made – but the comparison stops there.  The chicken is crispy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside with the rub going into the meat making it flavorful even without a gravy or sauce.  They do have a good selection of condiments to use but why destroy a good flavor right? If you think using utensils are something of a bother with this offering, then make use of your hands!  Remember, chicken are best eaten with your hands.

Their burrito offering is not bad also.  What was offered to us that day were the Vegan Pesto (Php 185), Roast Beef (Php 245) and the 29Karat Surf & Turf (Php819).  I know what you are thinking, that the surf & turf is quite pricey.  In the vernacular expression: “Ano yan may ginto?” (Does it have gold?).  Sorry to pop your balloon darling but yes it has gold.  It has edible gold at the side.  With scallops, shrimps and squid, their 3S combination, paired off with good beef part, a creamy sauce and seasoned rice (it has a nice tangerine – salmon pink color, thanks to the spice used), this burrito is worth sharing and unless you have one big appetite then you have it for yourself alone.  What is the twist here?  That seasoned rice mixture has an Asian taste to it making this burrito their own and not a Mexican copy-cat.

29Karat Surf & Turf Burrito
(See that gold thingie at the forefront? That's the edible gold!)

Two of the burgers that were offered that day were the A.M.P. and the Crunchy Mushroom Melt.  Totally outside the borders of Mexico and inside the corals of Texas, I would say.  This is one comfort food that you would guard with knives out.  Each burger has components that I like and they are a runny yolk but cooked sunny side-up egg, mushrooms and cheese.  A.M.P. stands for Angus Megawatt Patty (Php255).  Served with a hash brown and a wonderfully cooked egg, this is one heavenly burger for me!  The patty is seasoned the Megawatt, the hash brown offers a textural dimension way and the buns are customized bread for them alone. There are two ways to eat A.M.P., (1) eat it the aristocrat way - with your utensils or (2) do it the real foodie way – with your bare hands. I absolutely love the way the yolk pours down that hash and patty; giving it another flavor as you take a bite, after bite, after bite.

A.M.P.

Crunchy Mushroom Melt

The Crunchy Mushroom Melt is truly an American classic but what makes theirs different from the rest is that soft mozzarella cheese that is covered in a crunchy coating of its own.  The mushroom is cooked right and when that cheese starts oozing out after a bite or cut, then you are in for a challenge.  Either you eat fast or you act accordingly; I chose the latter.  Once the cheese starts oozing out, spread it out to the rest of the burger.  That way you still have that cheese goodness in every bite.

Seafood Garlic (Background)
Cheese,Cheese,Cheese (foreground)

Megawatt has two typed of pizza based on dough type, the hand tossed or the crispy thin.  For the hand tossed type, we were offered the Seafood Garlic (Php318) which has their signature 3S (squid, scallops and shrimps) topping it.  Unfortunately for me, I have to seat this one out due to crustacean adverse reaction but the smell is delightful!  There is something sweet smelling in it that goes well with garlic scent and the cheese that makes this enticing.  For the crispy thin, we were offered the Cheese, Cheese, Cheese or something I would call Cheese x3 or Cheese³.  For cheese lovers like me, then be ready to sink your teeth in to this.  You will find your palate going through the different cheese flavors placed on top of that pizza and simply fall off into cheese bliss (Thank God and it is not yet cheese coma!)  The thinness of the crust was just right that even when it got cold, you still get to enjoy it based on flavors alone.

You get the industrial yet eco-friendly theme, the collectibles that are displayed and sold to interested customers, the food that is more than your average Tex-Mex, so what is the final twist? The final twist is not for you directly but if you are a respectable car owner, then you can have your car enjoy a wash treatment as you enjoy a thing or two in Megawatt.  Since they are located with a carwash service station (LG2 Auto station is the name), then why not treat your car to a service that it deserve as you treat yourself, right?

The display case of collectibles

Megawatt is located at 41-A N. Domingo St, halfway point of Robinson’s Magnolia and Gilmore.  It is at the left side and if you missed the signage, you will definitely not miss the looks of a car service place.  Word of caution: Not for the shopaholics!  The displayed items (collectibles) are truly something worth having.  The designs of the shirts on display are not of the common type and same can be said with the keychains.  The figurines are truly and definitely worth having if you are a true collector at heart.  You can still get a piece at a time, to make it easy on the wallet, every time you come and dine at Megawatt.  You get a visual treat from the display, a palate and tummy treat from the food being offered, a car service – if you have one, and a collector’s piece – if something catches your fancy.  No food place set-up can beat that, not even the big malls developers!

GODS OF EGYPT, A Must or Must Not Film?

What do you get when someone decides to tackle a not so commonly touch pantheon in mythology and set it into film?  When research on mythological facts were truly made and then given a new flair to capture the present moviegoers?  When fantasy and reality are meshed to create an alternate earth making this story possible and plausible . . .  you get GODS OF EGYPT.

The setting of this film is on an alternate Earth where gods and human walks side by side.  Where statues of the gods are gilted in gold and displayed for all to see.  This is a place where gods are human like in form and attitude, though not in size; something that is akin to the description of the children of the sons of heaven with the daughters of men.  A time where gods wages their war on the earthly and godly plane and all of creation is caught in between.  That is the base storyline of this film; when personal desires and grievances tops the greater good of all.

Meet Bek and Zaya, two mortals that reflects the extremes of man’s faith to his god.  One doesn’t believe in divine providence while the other holds on to what she knows till death.  Bek is a thief who survives in life by doing what is best for him and those important to him.  Zaya is his beloved who believes that the gods shall do what is best for all humanity.  Trapped in the war of the gods, they still do what they can base on what they believed in. Bek will do what he can to survive after the fall of the House of Osiris while Zaya still believes that her god Horus will rise back again and deliver the glory that Egypt once has.

Presented in the film are the two houses of gods that represent Egypt – the House of Set and the House of Osiris - Upper and Lower Egypt. Forming the House of Osiris are Osiris himself, Isis – his sister-wife, Horus his son and that of the other gods such as Thoth, Hathor and too many to mention.  The House of Set is formed by Set himself and supposedly with his siter-wife, Nephthys, who turned her back on Set in the film, same as what is depicted in mythology.  The only data presented in the film that created a bit of confusion for me in is how Hathor was described as the goddesss of love, similar to the goddess of the same title in the Greeks and Roman myths.  In myth, Hathor is someone older than Osiris.  She is the goddess who takes care of the milk that flows in the galaxy (*hint*milkyway galaxy).  She is also a goddess equal to Isis in the sense that if Isis is for life and rebirth, Hathor is for the departed souls.  Hathor cares for those who is going to the other side thus earning the name, Lady/Mistress of the West.  The way I see it, she was tagged as a goddess of love because of the caring that she does to the souls and that of the milk that sustains the galaxy and not the emotional and physical love that we are familiar with.

The cinematic art that showed the armour god form of Set and Horus were fabulous!  Being the sky god, the hawk feature showed in Horus armour form is so apt in terms of details.  It is like being robotic and not at the same time.  The wings of Nephthys were also great in terms of colors and its metallic sheen.  Though I am not aware of Nephthys being depicted with wings in ancient images, it was a good touch in showing the protective side of her thus her character being tagged as goddess of protection – in myth text she is a goddess of war.  The armour god look of Set was down to the letter!  In myth text, Set(h) is depicted as an god with a head similar in composite to that of a jackal or a fox, and an aardvark.  The beast depiction of Set’s head is truly unknown for modern men.

This is an action-adventure themed movie, where the fight scenes are semi-breathtaking and somehow mystically realistic (imagine fighting a giant snake that breathes fire).  The taking back of the Eye of Horus shows how present cinematic technology can enhance a scene but at the same time display the mathematical genius of ancient Egyptians, which is quite awesome to behold!  The spear of Set, which was a gift from Ra, reminds me of another retractable weapon shown in another mythological based film (*hint* Zeus’ bolt).  I just find the gigantic beetle and the birds a little off.  The snake I can accept but the beetle and the birds carrying carriage is a little too much for me – so magical for me (not mystical).  I love the war-like image that they depicted for the two war goddesses namely Anat and Astante, the only thing that I find confusing and interesting was the weapon used by Anat.  It was the ancient war axe which is good but on myth text, Anat uses a bow and arrow.  Another character that I find off is their depiction of the sphinx.  In myth text, there is a beauty in viewing a sphinx but the way they presented it was something akin to a sand golem – roughly formed.

The music is somehow a downer for me.  When you hear their music track, you would know it is Egyptian themed and somehow reminds you of other Egyptian themed movie (*hint* Prince of Egypt).  There was no spice in their music making it truly stand-out as a new sound track to listen at.

Gerard Butler is good as a villain!  He showed the pride of a god and humanity at the same time.  His depiction of Set is truly worth seeing. I love him as a villain – a villain that is with internal conflict eating inside him yet trying to justify the torch of conflict that he bears. Next to him is Chadwick Boseman, who acted as Thoth.  The way he depicted Thoth harped on the pride in knowing everything, something that is a common trait with people who are tagged as geniuses or truly knowledgable on something.

As a whole, how do I find the film?

I like the effects for it was not that flashy that hurts the eyes when watching it at the big screen.  I like the human aspect depicted by the gods.  It was a good film to view once or twice but nothing more than that because of the simplicity of the storyline.  In all honestly, it took me sometime to write about this movie because I still have to resolve some of the initial confusion that I got from the film since I have some knowledge about Egyptian mythology/pantheon.  Digging into mythological texts is not easy because of the number of sources but I was able to find some relevant text and mythological stories supporting the character form presented in the film.  It was a fun challenge to truly get the right text and have logic work on that info to truly see where the writer and filmmaker is coming from.

This is a good film to have as part of your personal movie collection because of the novelty of the theme and the effectiveness of Gerard Butler as a villain.  Beyond that, then it is already your personal reason as to why you wish to watch it and have a personal copy in your movie box.

"Pag-isipan Mo", Jaime Rivera's New Single Launch

This time, Jamie is once again using her voice and music to urge the Filipino voters to choose wisely in the upcoming national elections.  For her, they need to choose the right person to do the job right and not just be swayed by popularity and media presentation.

“Pag-isipan mo at magdasal tayo kung sino ang dapat at kung sino ang tapat. Yung hindi nya sasaktan, ating inang bayan, nagmamahal ng wagas sa baying Pilipinas."

"The young people today needs to broaden their sights and minds so that what has happened before shall not happen again.  Dinaanan na namin ang epekto ng Martial law at wag nyo ng maulit pa ito.  Nakakahiyang isipin  na meron tayong mga kababayan na natutulog sa gilid-gilid ng kalsada at meron namang naglalakihan ang mga bahay," so says Jamie Rivera during her press conference.

With the future of the country in mind, Jaime composed her newest single titled “Pag-isipan Mo Ang Boto Mo,” Star Music’s official theme sone for “Halalan 2016.”

“Pag-isipan Mo Ang Boto Mo” can now be streamed on Spotify and can also be downloaded via online music stores such as ABS-CBN Store, iTunes, Amazon.com, OneMusic.PH and Starmusic.ph.
