Starting this month, Dome Café
Philippines has added in new entries into their menu. Eight (8) new entries for you to choose and
enjoy and they are all available now this March at Dome Café located at the
ground floor of the Shangri-la Mall in EDSA.
Known for their good coffee, Dome
has come a long way from where it was then.
This franchise business that started in Perth, Australia originally
settled its roots in Makati. From two
locations in Makati, they now have settled on the crossroads of two busy cities
namely Mandaluyong and Pasig; and have steadily rebuilt its followers in their
new home while maintaining the ambiance that they are known for.
Four (4) new sandwiches, a new
pasta dish, a new salad to enjoy, a new rice meal to indulge at, a sausage
plate to share with friends and a new brew to enjoy and love, all made out of
love for good comfort food. A new set of
chillers was also launched to beat the summer heat; 5 new non-alcoholic drinks
for you and your kids to enjoy. All this
you can enjoy at the seat of your choice in Dome.
Garden Salad |
Their Garden Salad has an
interesting play of balsamic vinaigrette to its components. What was meant to be light became a dish with
an attitude. That play of balsamic made
the components of this dish not only sing its normal notes but also do a medley
in the process. The Mixed Grilled Sausages
comes with, technically speaking, 5 dips to choose from. On your plate, you have their classic
breakfast sausage, grilled Italian sausage, Hungarian cheese sausage and
Nuemberger sausage, pair it off with their tartar
sauce, garlic mayo, barbecue sauce, dill sauce and of course the classic catsup
and mayo. Four (4) types of sausages, 5 types of dips that you could pair
it with; what more can you ask for?

Sweet & Spicy Grilled Salmon |
A perfect time it was to launch
their new rice meal dish – the Sweet & Spicy Grilled Salmon,
since Lent is here and fishes takes center stage in the dining hall. Resting on some asparagus, this is one dish
that you may like to try-out in your visit to the café. The salmon has nice grill marks that are
covered with a golden-like glaze that is their sweet and spicy mayo. The fish is flaky and you can remove the skin
easily should you wish so. Their take on
the Classic
Primavera Pasta is a winner!
This is good as a vegetarian pasta for what you have here are broccoli,
zucchini, asparagus and cherry tomato instead of the usual meat stuff. The sauce is creamy that really goes well
with the aforementioned components and does not overpower it. May not become your favorite but you will
surely enjoy it; I sure did.

Classic Burger |
The Classic Burger is truly
how a burger should be. Perfectly
seasoned, rightly thick burger patty with the right amount of tomatoes, onions,
greens, bacon and of course, cheese.
This thick sandwich is a sure winner for those who are looking for a
no-frill sandwich or in this case burger.
Their Hungarian Sausage Sandwich is one light sandwich, to think that
we are talking here of a well seasoned Hungarian sausage. Its slices of Hungarian sausage spread
accordingly on ciabatta bread with a gruyere cheese and tomato salsa
spread. The cheese is melted to the
right consistency that you will have a taste of it in every bite that you take.

Vegetarian Sandwich |
Next on the new entry is their Vegetarian
Sandwich. This is an open faced
sandwich wherein they made use of pizza bread.
Roasted to perfection is an array of vegetables that is drizzled with
basil pesto and topped with feta cheese.
This sandwich is light but filling at the same time. The Salmon & Egg Mayo Sandwich tops
the list of all the new entries for me!
Its slices of thin salmon on ciabatta bread with a good layer underneath
of a no frill egg spread. It may not
sound much but when you get a bite into it then you will understand why it tops
the list. Salmon is a very strong fish
that needs a major treatment to keep that fishy power at bay. That egg mayo gave that solution. You still taste the salmon but the fishy
taste is lessened to a degree that it is not overpowering the whole dish. It is one deliciously filling sandwich that I
have ever tasted!

Cappuccino & New York Cheesecake |
Their brew of Cappuccino
is perfect for their cakes! To add taste
and flair to this classic is a good dusting of chocolate powder on top of the
froth cap when served. For me, the best
cake to pair with this classic is their New York Cheese Cake. That light creamy cheesecake has the right
sweetness level that is truly complimented when you take a sip of that right
coffee mixture. This is the perfect
companion as to will the afternoon away or as you watch busy people go about
their day. Try this pairing and it is
me-time in session.
Coolers by Sergui Pelayo for DomeCafe PH (from far most to front: Blue Sky, Jamaica, Everest Cocktail Summer Delight and Fresh Lemonade with Mint) |
To help will the afternoon and
heat away, Dome Café has launched also a new line of chillers/coolers that are
not only visually refreshing but also in taste and flavors. Created by one of the managers, Sergui
Pelayo’s inspiration for all the drinks came far and wide. From his experience as part of the food
industry in the Middle East, to his dream places, to his family, Pelayo’s flair
truly showed in this line of coolers that he created for the café. You have to try and know the story of all the
drinks before choosing a favorite but a must try is the Jamaica Cooler. You have to hear from Mr. Pelayo himself the
story behind this drink to understand where that smooth flavors are coming
from. Launched coolers are Jamaica,
Summer Delight, Everest Cocktail, Blue Sky and Fresh Lemonade with Mint.
As a whole, the new entries of Dome Café
Philippines are but reflections of who they truly are in the food
industry. They give comfort to the
people through what they offer and gives off a relax atmosphere. The food is rich in flavor and so are the
drinks they now serve. Try a moment in
Dome and that moment may become a permanent fixture in your life. That is the magic of Dome Café here in the
Philippines.
