The
Little Room Upstairs
Is
the actual playground of every artist who are brave enough to explore the
countless discoveries that a little space with vast possibilities can offer if
you are willing to take the risk. It is like a room of requirement, it can be
anything you want it to be. Its dimension is uniquely configured to ward off
cunning theatrics and trickery offered by expansive venues. It is a very
intimate space where truth, sincerity and integrity are set as obligations.
What they offer now
The
Riddle of the Sphinx
The Riddle of the Sphinx is a play
beautifully written but probably, was never given the proper limelight that it
deserves. It is one of the many gems of Philippine Literature awaiting the song
of its muse so that the beauty of its letters and words will come to life. It
was written by Eugenio Deriada in English and translated in Filipino by Jim
Bergado
Giving life to the two interesting
characters of the play are Ace Urieta (Young Man) and Shiela Espina (Young
Woman) both are talented emerging actors under the tutelage of Artist
Playground’s
Artistic Director and multi-awarded actor Roeder Camanag. The Riddle of the
Sphinx is directed by Paul Jake Paule.
Supporting the director in bringing life to this simple yet very
thought-provoking drama are Kimberly Somoza (Lights Designer), Jeffrey Camanag
(Production Designer), Dianna Dancel (Costume Designer) and Rowena Jarito
(Sound Designer).
